Everyone knows that none of our university students is not longing for “being individual”. Even though, we are still trying our best to behave differently from others. We dye our hairs different colors, we wear faded blue jeans, and we tattoo bugs on our arms… The only hope we hold is that we could be approved by the society.
However, the fact is like this: we are crowed in the barber’s to ask him to give us an exact copy of Jay Chou’s or S.H.E.’s hairstyle. Or we sometimes gather before the clothes of the same brand to search carefully for the same shirts that our classmates are we wearing. Or we would rush into the digital shops and pick out the same type cell phones or mp3 players, as soon as we see someone has taken possess of them. Those are quite disappointing. It seems that we have no ideas on our life.
Unfortunately, the same thing also happens in our study life and love life. We go to buy the same book for the same reason--- a “same” person has said that it would be of great value in Mr. Jack’s exam. We choose the same public class because we have gotten the same information that it is easy to get the credits. When one of our roommates begins to date, the rest couldn’t sit still any more. It is quite interesting that they would spare no efforts to “find” a “mate” to go out with, as soon as they can.
Obviously, what we are doing are just Follow, Follow and Follow. This kind of behavior could never give anybody the message that we are individuals, on the contrary, it would likely show that we are quite alike a group of sheep. No directions, no opinions, no thoughts and even no confidence, we couldn’t find a better description. Willing or not, we have already been that group of sheep…
