Pride and prejudice

The six romantic novels which were written before Austen was dead in 1817 were still widely read. Her first novel published in 1811 was “ sense and sensitivity “, but her best-known work, “pride and prejudice” was written around 15 years earlier. Although originally rejected for publication, the novel and the intelligence heroine have come to hold a place among the great classics of the English literature.
