The danger of using a cell phone has been a hot topic over the past few years. The cell phone is still under of questions on its ability to emit radiation and is this harmful to our health? There have been lots of studies throughout the globe that links the excessive use of cell phones to many health conditions like cancer, tumour, Leukemia, headaches, hearing loss and decrease in sperm counts. It appears that most studies that show that cell phones are safe are either done by the telecommunications industry or various governmental agencies.
More and more teens and children are using the cell phone. Their brain and nervous system is not fully developed until around the age of 20 which makes them more vulnerable to electromagnetic waves and radio frequency radiation. This gets worse when because they like to get on the phone for a long period of time.
I have listed below some things you can do to help offset the potential damaging effects of cell phone use.
Increase texting to reduce your talking time on the phone. This way, you will have less time of the phone at your ear.
Put a limit to the time you use your phone.
Decrease the time you put the phone beside your ear by using the speakerphone function.
Prevent using your phone when the signal is weak. When the signal is weak your phone works harder to keep you connected which increases the potential danger.
Protect yourself by using an EMF shield on your phone to reduce radiation.
Do not put the phone near your body when you are not using it. This is not easy but it will be good for your if you can do it.
Turn your phone off when you are not using it.
The effects of the cell phone radiation over your body will only be felt many years later. So, there is nothing wrong by being cautious.
